Purpose The Tuition Benefits Program provides educational benefits to CSEA-represented New York State employees, enabling them to achieve greater career mobility and promotional opportunities, improve job skills, and to prepare for future state workforce needs through three components:
The 2008-2009 Tuition Benefits Program provides two benefits (tuition vouchers or tuition reimbursements) and an unlimited number of Credit-by-Examination Fee Reimbursement benefits. Eligibility You are eligible if you are a CSEA-represented New York State employee (ASU, ISU, OSU, or DMNA) who is receiving a New York State paycheck when applying, or a CSEA-represented New York State employee who has been laid off in the past year, has not been rehired in a permanent CSEA-represented state position, and is on a Civil Service Preferred List. CSEA-represented state employees who are otherwise eligible but are on approved non-disciplinary leave without pay or receiving workers’ compensation benefits may also be eligible with proper documentation. Documentation must specify the type of leave, as well as the start and anticipated end dates. It must be signed by a human resources officer and must be attached to your tuition benefits application form |
