Introduction

The Shared Labor-Management Solutions web pages are a place where you can share your ideas and learn what other labor-management committees have accomplished. Share your solutions so that labor-management committees around NYS may benefit.

A shared solution is when an agency, department, or local labor-management committee successfully improves the overall quality of services, efficiency of work, or workplace culture through cooperation.

Background

NYS and CSEA are committed to creating strong partnerships between labor and management that will increase workforce productivity, improve customer satisfaction, and enhance employee satisfaction. The NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training Labor-Management Services staff trains labor-management committees to work collaboratively to solve workplace problems and think strategically about how to improve services to the public.

Article 33 of the ISU, OSU, and ASU agreements and Article 25 of the DMNA agreement call for the creation of labor-management committees. The purpose of these committees is to facilitate communication between the parties, promote a climate conducive to constructive employee relations, and provide a forum for discussing matters of mutual concern.
