APPLYING

How many grants can a local/facility apply for?

Generally, a local/facility can apply for one grant per category per fiscal year.  Return to Questions

Can a local/facility request more than one category on each grant application?

No. Locals/facilities must complete a separate grant application for each category. Return to Questions

When requesting equipment purchases, can more than one worksite be included in each grant?  

Yes.  Be sure to list each site, the number of employees at each site and the requested size and cost of equipment in the budget table on page 2 of the grant application.   Return to Questions

Who signs the grant application(s)?

Grant applications must be co-signed by the CSEA local president and a management representative. The management representative must be a human resource manager, facility director, or equivalent.  Return to Questions

Does the entire grant application need to be completed?

Yes. A grant application can not be approved unless all requested information is included. Return to Questions

GENERAL GUIDELINES

Can we purchase larger break/lunch room equipment if our request is approved?

You can, but you will only be reimbursed for the amount approved. Break/lunch room equipment amount and size is based on the number of CSEA-represented NYS employees who will benefit directly from the equipment.  Return to Questions

Why can’t break/lunch room equipment be put in the office?

Equipment is intended to be put in a designated break area or lunch room for those CSEA-represented NYS employees who the grant will benefit.  Return to Questions

REVIEW AND APPROVAL PROCESS

What is the procedure for approval?

Completed grant applications are submitted to the appropriate Partnership field associate, reviewed for completion, and then brought to a monthly QWL grants review committee meeting for discussion. Final decisions are made at that time.  Return to Questions

Why can’t we get approval right away?

All grant requests must go through a formal review to make sure the grant meets the proper criteria for reimbursement.  Return to Questions
